So the tour has started!!!! The Bijou Theater in Knoxville seemed like a grand place to start it all off. It is a beautiful theater with a rich history, everyone was so attentive that it made me a little nervous. We ended up playing longer than I intended, no one seemed to mind. I was a little nervous as it was my first headlining show in over a year. I remembered all the lyrics and made it through just fine.
We played Birmingham last night as part of the ever-growing City Stages. I started the day with an acoustic radio performance from the roof top of some swanky hotel. I was sweating so much i had to play with my eyes closed because they burned from my dripping forehead. It was suffering I was willing to do for Scott Reggister (the first dj to play my music.) We took the stage and the streets where packed with smiling Alabamians. From the stage i had a view past the crowd down 16th all the way to the capital building. It was a beautiful night. As the night ended i found myself on stage with Dierks Bentley singing a Johnny Cash cover. It was epic!
So far so good… I hope I get to see you soon.
Mat
